Frequently Asked Questions

Please scroll down to see important questions and answers:

Are you accepting walk-ins?

Unfortunately we are only accepting appointments at this time, and calling is the best way to ask about the most current availability. Most days we have next day appointments. Walk-ins can not be accepted at this time, so please call for the most current appointment availability.

Do I need parental consent if I'm a minor?

No! New York State does not require parental consent for reproductive health services for minors.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes, we encourage you to bring anyone you think will support you through this decision. It’s our policy to see the patients by themselves first, and then if there is an opportunity to bring in support people we can.

What if I don’t have a ride?

Local transportation can be provided, just let staff know!

Do I need insurance, or pay out of pocket for my services?

Neither. MyChoice is a non-profit which means we have private donors who pay for your services to be free. We don’t even need a form of identity.

I've had an abortion, is there someone I can talk to about how I feel?

Yes. This is another free resource we provide. Whether it was a few months ago or years ago, we have a support group for you.

If I need an ultrasound, or other medical services, but I'm not pregnant, can I still make an appointment?

Yes! MyChoice does STI/STD testing for both gonorrhea and chlamydia for any person wishing to get tested, male or female. However, other medical services, such as an ultrasound, are reserved for pregnant women only.

What if I have other children, can I bring them?

We’re happy to accommodate any other children you would need to bring with you. We just ask that older children stay in the waiting room during your appointment, as sensitive material may come up in our conversations, and we want you to be as comfortable as possible.

I will get kicked out if I decide to keep the baby....where would I go?

We have a free home in Orange County, for pregnant moms and their babies up to one year old. Requirements include no other children in custody, women must be over the age of 18. Contact us for more info!
